Fascinating Subject submitted by benmurphysmith on August 29, 2018, 12:04am James C. Scott is a brilliant social scientist, and one of the great champions of anarchy. This book presents the history of those not represented in "history." He has always looked at populations that have resisted consolidation into a state society. His subject in this book is the same, Scott looks at those who did not immediately switch to agriculture, which he argues was the vast majority, until circumstances shifted. Great read. As a former social studies teacher on the subject there were a lot of interesting points made, but nothing terribly earth shaking.
