The Early Years submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2022, 6:59pm This season of the Great British Bake Off is actually the show’s third season, and watching it after seeing some of the later competitions is quite interesting given the way that the show has grown over the intervening years. The bakes are slightly less ambitious and the show itself is clearly still finding its feet, but the quintessential GBBO spirit is present in full force and the general demeanor remains remarkably amiable and relaxed for a reality competition show. This season might be a slightly disappointing one to begin with given the current level of hype (a deserved level, in my opinion), but stick with it; all of the essential elements are present here, and the show really takes off in its next season (which is DVD Season Two for some odd reason).
