Bug Lab - for children?
submitted by teri on August 17, 2020, 11:03pm
Be aware that this book includes lots of information on how to study insects and arthropods by "collecting". In this instance, "collecting" means using what's known as a "killing jar". The creature is killed by using rubbing alcohol, etc - then pinned to a board for further study.
This may be helpful for the budding entomologist - but when teaching most children about the wonder of "bugs", I prefer a "catch and release" approach.
