This is the film that prompted Frances McDormand to ask Chloé Zhao to develop the book Nomadland as a film submitted by Morty on July 14, 2021, 7:51pm I wanted to see what piqued McDormand's interest and faith in Zhao, who wrote, produced, and directed this film, and it was obvious even in the first few minutes of the film. Zhao has a really good eye for color, framing, and making the most of "Magic Hour," the last few moments of daylight at the end of a day. The breaking of wild horses in the film is real and shot in real-time, so DP Joshua James Richards' up close and personal shooting is really impressive.
