"Ever a man of mystery and intrigue, Teddy Fay has donned a new disguise--that of Mark Weldon, a stuntman and actor starring in Centurion Pictures' newest film. When the picture's leading lady begins receiving blackmail threats, Teddy is in the perfect position to investigate, and it soon becomes clear that the villains have more in their sights than just money. Money they've got. What they need is prestige, the cache of a respected studio to lend authority and legitimacy to their artistic endeavors...and a little bit of vengeance in the bargain. From the seedy hidden corners of Los Angeles to the glamorous Hollywood Hills, it will take every ounce of Teddy's cunning to save an actress's career, protect the studio, and finish filming Centurion's next big hit"--Dust jacket flap.

One Huge Loose End submitted by GJBarnett2 on August 20, 2018, 11:58pm Another episode in the saga of Stone Barrington and his stable of friends, this time Teddy Fay. More a novella than a novel, large print and big margins. Read it in a day. Complex plot but with one incredibly HUGE loose end. Looks like the editor said, "OK, but what about ... ?" and Woods/Hall said, "Jeez, I/we forgot!" so they tied up with a single Deus Ex Machina sentence on the last page with no "How did you do that?" About as satisfying as ending with "And then the cavalry rode to the rescue" or "Then the little boy fell out of bed and woke up and his bad dream was over."
