COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Worth Watching but Not Great submitted by andy101 on August 9, 2018, 12:13am Overall, I thought the film was good but not great. I enjoyed learning about a historical event about which I knew very little beforehand. Furthermore, I gained an appreciation for the pressure that politicians endure. In addition to the pressure of being constantly judged in the public eye, with which all politicians deal, Ted Kennedy also faced pressure from the legacy of his family. I also thought the acting and the development of particular characters, especially Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy, were quite good. However, the plot of the movie was generally shallow. Upon further researching the historical Chappaquiddick incident, I concluded that the film put too many holes in the story, left too many questions unanswered, and did not treat the incident with enough energy and emotion.

History? submitted by moola on July 13, 2019, 11:47am Acting not bad but left me wondering about most of the movie.

Raises questions, doesn't answer them submitted by selujules on August 6, 2019, 7:51pm I listened to the podcast about Chappaquiddick, and learned tons of facts about the case. This movie is a movie, not a documentary, so as is typical for the genre, it's full of drama and some plot holes. The film doesn't seem to answer questions about guilt, but makes the viewer ask them. Kate Mara is awesome in this movie!
