COMMUNITY REVIEWS

BEST. ALBUM. EVER! submitted by princesslydia on June 17, 2018, 11:23pm I have been a fan of this musical for a while, so when I finally got my hands on a copy of the cast album, I loved it immediately! I have so many favorite songs, and I love how so many artist came together to make the music for this album!

Who Lives on a Pineapple on Broadway's Stage? submitted by Meginator on June 14, 2019, 2:11pm This musical is completely surprising, but in all of the best ways. True to the spirit of SpongeBob SquarePants, the show emphasizes its characters’ inherent silliness and the complex webs of relationships that create and sustain the Bikini Bottom community; striking a nice balance of humor and heart, the show is immersive and fun. The format is unusual for a Broadway show, featuring songs written by an eclectic group of popular rock, country, pop, and rap artists. Yet the producers have worked a miracle: each of the songs sounds like the work of its composer(s), yet they come together brilliantly (and seamlessly) to tell a complete, coherent story. This soundtrack is inventive and hilarious and heartwarming and one of the better new musicals I’ve listened to in a while.

Juvenile submitted by rebecca.perreault on June 19, 2019, 1:34am The soundtrack is unique in that many artists have come together to create this work. Some of the artists have created more depth in their songs writing on deeper themes, whereas others are narrating the storyline, and the worst offenders are those that just write hooks. The music is fun, but it is superficial and tough to listen to when the charm wears off.
