"Children all around the world go to school. Whether they're from Japan, Ukraine, Pakistan, or the United States, all students have the desire to learn about our world and shape the future. Some children walk for three hours while others take a bus or walk over a wire bridge. The treks of these students are unique, extraordinary, and even dangerous, and it emphasizes the common determination, perseverance, and sense of adventure shared by young people around the world Read along as students from fifteen different nations embark on their journeys to get to school in the morning, and learn about the diverse landscapes and cultures of these countries along the way!"-- Provided by publisher.

worthwhile read submitted by alotofaxolotl on August 20, 2018, 8:20pm Enjoyed sharing this with my 6 year old daughter. It helped her see how different other children's lives are in other parts of the world. She seemed to appreciate better her own circumstances: the ease of getting to school, for one. A teacher could use this book to start a classroom conversation about access to school and teach students about other cultures.
Connecting through school stories submitted by KBarkerPeters on July 25, 2020, 3:59pm This is a great book to share with young readers. I read it with 2nd and 3rd graders, and they loved learning about other young people's travels to school in 13 different countries The writing is approachable and the topic is very relatable. Readers will get a sense of the geography, politics, and infrastructure that can make attending school in some locales quite an adventure!
