"Originally published as Eleanor & the Egret #1-5."--Title page verso.
"A dangerous game of cat and mouse with a girl and her talking bird. The most daring art thief in Paris has struck again, and the police have assigned their best detective to the case. His only clue? A single white feather left at the scene. Could this feather belong to the thief? Or more likely, to the thief's accomplice, an oversized talking egret? Perhaps his investigation will lead him to somewhere even stranger? [Answer: all of the above.] Presenting a peculiar and unforgettable tale of birds and banditry, paintings and pets, larceny, love and...lamprey-wielding assassins? From the legendary creator of "The Maxx' and co-creator of "Sandman", Sam Kieth, and the considerably less-legendary creator of "Chew", John Layman! Collecting all five issues from this hit AfterShock series!"-- Provided by publisher.

Not What I Expected? submitted by majean on August 5, 2018, 2:01pm I had been recommended this by many fans of steampunk as a steampunk graphic novel, which it isn't. Some of the aesthetic is late 19th/early 20th century, but it doesn't seem to take place at that time, and I am not sure where that part falls into the story. The plot is interesting, and I enjoyed it, but the end is a little confusing, and I hope that it means that there will be more, though this plot is complete.
