Delete your accounts
submitted by edwardvielmetti on July 18, 2021, 3:22pm
But don't delete your library account! That's fine.
Jaron Lanier doesn't like Google, Twitter, or Facebook - he wants you to delete your accounts there, because they are turning you into a horrible person, addicted and manipulated and full of anger and sadness. Sad!
In the last few words of the book it turns out that Jaron works for Microsoft, and he's generally OK with Microsoft products and properties like LinkedIn. I guess I'd have liked to know that point of view earlier.
