COMMUNITY REVIEWS

meh submitted by kencza on July 14, 2018, 12:01am kind of simplistic story of young knuckleheads who get into a militaristic
mindset and eventually become heroes on a train. I'll never get those 2 hours back

Disappointing submitted by heapah on July 20, 2018, 10:05pm Wooden and dragged on. This was not a very good movie.

Low budget submitted by AprilCDB on July 22, 2018, 9:13pm Felt like a low budget film where they spent all their money recreating the 3 young men’s travels through Europe. The whole story of what happened on the train could have been told in less than 30 minutes. It was nice to honor the men, but this movie was unnecessary.

It was ok submitted by elepling on August 8, 2018, 7:20pm The event happened so fast there was not much to make a movie out of

Too Much Backstory submitted by Beth Manuel on August 21, 2018, 8:01pm I understood the need for context regarding the story of these young men who were faced with being on a train in Europe when a terrorist attack occurred. The men involved in the incident starred as themselves in the film. So, they weren't actors, and you could tell. I thought there was way too much backstory, including childhood recollections that had nothing to do with the incident on the train.

The 3 actors are the 3 ACTUAL HEROES submitted by Tassos on April 1, 2019, 1:19pm Only ONE review of the half dozen here mentioned the most unusual feature of this movie, namely that the 3 protagonists are NOT stupid actors but the very SAME HEROES of the true story. That is VERY Remarkable.

Overall, the movie had a lot of irrelevant fluff. Eastwood made much better movies lately.

Not Great, but Not That Bad submitted by krogers on June 21, 2019, 10:03am I agree with Tassos - I think the main 3 did a remarkable job for not being professional actors. But it was surprising how an overwhelming percentage of the film was "background" with almost nothing about the event itself. And the blatant homages to "God and Country" seemed rather forced, as if Eastwood wanted to make a point that he couldn't quite make but was trying anyway. Overall, though, unlike a lot of the other reviewers, I did find the film enjoyable.

Very interesting submitted by Xris on July 12, 2020, 11:51am I like how they showed the guys when they were younger, how they met, what they wanted to do with their lives that led up to that heroic event. I was surprised to see that the actual people from this incident played themselves in the movie! Good to see!
