COMMUNITY REVIEWS

a gem submitted by yufamily on August 12, 2018, 9:59am what a great collection!

Nice collection! submitted by teri on August 13, 2019, 4:06pm I think we've gone through this series twice. The acting is good, and you're not left trying to figure things out when the program is over.
The relationship between Havers and Lynley is great - and adds some comic relief.

Really POOR TV adaptations of a not so good crime author. More of a damned soap opera than a mystery series. submitted by Tassos on January 13, 2023, 8:57am Very disappointing. If you are seriously interested in a GOOD crime series.

The author does a lot of research to try to accurately portray BRITISH characters, because she is NOT british.

I don;t blame her for the failure of this series, most of the blame lies with the MORONS who ADAPTED her books for TV. ANd they did a TERRIBLE JOB.

The musical score is also very annoying at times, trying to be 'dramatic' where instead we need a quiet time to figure out what is happening.

WOrst of all is the ACCURSED SOAP OPERA type of episodes, instead of a GOOD CRIME MYSTERY story.

THe BBC makes A LOT of these different crime series, and almost ALL of them, in EVERY episode, involve MURDERS. MOST of these series are MEDIOCRE At best, but the alternative US series are EVEN MORE AWFUL.

I miss the GREAT HITCHCOCK so much! Even Agatha Christie and Poirot and Miss Marple are better than this CRAP!
