Well, Actually submitted by Meginator on July 7, 2023, 7:37pm This classic synth-pop album has an incredibly consistent feel across its 10 tracks, for both better and worse, with its tracks blending a sense of honesty with an odd sort of detachment between the lyrical content and the vocal delivery. The duo has an immediately identifiable musical style, with laid-back synth beats creating hazy backgrounds that fit in nicely with the musical and lyrical melodic lines, and many of the tracks have a remarkable earworm quality despite the fact that they sound so similar in their instrumentation and general feel. I found this to be a bit on the annoyingly repetitive side while first listening to it, but a few days later I’m still finding some of the songs stuck in my head at odd and unexpected times, so the album definitely has a staying power to it.
