Captivating storytelling submitted by wendylv on August 12, 2019, 9:03am Wow. This is a beautifully told story about the courage and resourcefulness of a young girl to survive and protect her family under Taliban rule in 2001 Afghanistan. The animation brings to life the fantastic fairy tale woven throughout the modern-day story but also does not shy away from the harshness and cruelty that the family lives under. The injustice and violence are especially heartbreaking when you know there really are millions of families like Parvana's who do not get the same hopeful ending hers does.
