It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger. Speaking of way, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract". Meg's father had been experimenting with this fifth dimension of time travel when he mysteriously disappeared. Now the time has come for Meg, her friend Calvin, and Charles Wallace to rescue him. But can they outwit the forces of evil they will encounter on their heart-stopping journey through space?

A Wrinkle in Tone submitted by karlagroesbeck on July 4, 2018, 7:25am This story is a classic, based on its innovative ideas for the time it was written. However, be aware this particular delivery on CD almost made me avoid the opportunity to indulge. The character's voices are poorly crafted making it an almost unbearable listen. Kids might be okay with it as it sounds like a cartoon, which might be my problem, because I also find them profoundly annoying. Oh well....

Wonderful to read on CD. Take it on your next long car trip. submitted by mickplu on July 16, 2023, 8:54am This classic is made even more wonderful through audio. The narrator(s) do a fantastic job of differentiating voices so that you can easily distinguish the children. The story remains intriguing and is appropriate for all ages. The audio version would be perfect for a family car trip.
