Cranky overrationale submitted by mowjac on August 20, 2018, 7:59pm I thought this would be a different book: about health, dying and how America handles those. Instead I got Ehrenreich being cranky and focusing on smaller topics. While the punch at Silicon Valley is interesting, the book doesn't offer much new or insightful.

Broad examination submitted by lizgiessner on July 4, 2022, 6:15pm This was a well-written look at the medical system/problems in this country, alternative medicines, and successful aging. There was also a long section on philosophy which I found enjoyable. The book is written from the author's personal perspective, but there was much I could relate to or was inspired to consider.
