Colorful view of childhood submitted by ferielp on June 22, 2018, 11:56am The story keeps it simple - a single mom living in a motel trying to live day to day, and the unsupervised kids who can find joy in their play no matter where they are.

happy sad submitted by kencza on June 30, 2018, 1:46pm A mom living on the edge shows the misery life can be while also exhibiting the joy of motherhood.
The children are curious, energetic, mischievous, and seemingly unaware of their have-less status.
Willem Dafoe does a fine job playing the firm manager of the complex who tries to walk the line between
authority and understanding.

ending submitted by johnbiancke on July 12, 2018, 10:05pm I loved the original ending

Character-driven story. submitted by heapah on July 14, 2018, 7:43pm Interesting story of survival under tough circumstances. Character-driven story telling. Pretty good.

Lost interest submitted by mandevil on August 11, 2018, 9:33pm After 15 minutes of boring i turned it off

Depressing submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 3:59pm All the characters deserve pity. This is an honest portrayal of what it is to struggle financially.

Disturbingly Real submitted by sushai on July 5, 2019, 7:29pm A slice of Americana that is sometimes swept under the rug. The acting is so great it feels a little like a documentary. I appreciated how Dafoe's character tried to preserve a sense of dignity for the people living in the motel he managed.

Poverty submitted by moola on July 13, 2019, 12:03pm This movie shows the real pain
