COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Intense! submitted by bookher on June 28, 2018, 1:00pm I watched this movie because of the academy award nominations but I kind of wish I hadn't. It made me angry and the end just left me angry and I don't watch movies with the intent of getting angry.

No closure submitted by kkellis on July 6, 2018, 7:48pm Very intense movie with no closure

Powerful submitted by nsvinicki on July 19, 2018, 10:00am This is a very powerful film, but trigger warning for abuse, alcoholism, violence and graphic suicide. It's an emotional roller coaster that will have you hating and loving each of the characters at different points in the film. But it's a deeply human story that stuck with me long after finishing the movie. There's pros and cons to that, and I leave it up to other viewers to decide what they do with the emotions the movie is going to evoke. I'd just give a heads up that this movie is not light-hearted and optimistic - it's heavy and will make you think about what you know and how you view the people around you.

Yes, the ending is left open. There is no real resolution, but I didn't feel like the movie needed one. The story wasn't about the ending, it was about the people and the journey they're on.

Tough but Important submitted by krogers on July 20, 2018, 9:18am Definitely tough to stomach a lot of what happens in the film, but it is a story well-told and well-acted, and the message about the consequences of giving in to hatred is very timely.

Strong Characters, Interesting Story submitted by Maria Maguire on July 20, 2018, 5:08pm I didn't expect to like this movie, as I don't usually go for more artsy, drama, Oscar nominated films... but I really enjoyed it! I was drawn in by the strong characters, especially Frances McDormand as Mildred, the mother.

There was also a good amount of action, and every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, something else crazy happened. There were also some awesome shots in the film, and the visual of the three billboards themselves is super memorable. Some awkward moments, but all around an interesting movie!

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri submitted by SBNB on June 15, 2019, 12:59pm I wish they hadn’t used the word “midget” so much. They could have at least mentioned that it’s very offensive. But besides that, it’s a great movie.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri submitted by lstorc on July 18, 2019, 8:57pm I couldn't get into this and I appreciate dark comedy... definitely an acquired taste...

A tough movie to watch... submitted by tbbrown76 on August 16, 2019, 1:21pm Lots of violence, bloodshed and bad language. But a very well acted story and great plot. Recommended.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing submitted by yufamily on August 24, 2022, 6:36pm Powerful and intense. A must see.

AN OUTSTANDING, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED MASTERPIECE! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO SEE IT TOO! submitted by Tassos on March 24, 2023, 9:28am After several recent mediocre to bad DVDs, I ended my day yesterday by watching THIS MASTERPIECE.

It was JUST PERFECT.

Frances McDormand is a SUPERB actress, guarantees a good movie whenever she plays in one.

The script was also excellent. I did not see who was the director, but it felt like one of the excellent movies by the Cohen brothers.

I compared it with "Fargo", maybe it is even better than that great movie.
