Read by the author.
Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives -- experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. Now Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization. Brown argues that we're experiencing a spiritual crisis of disconnection, and introduces four practices of true belonging that challenge everything we believe about ourselves and each other. Brown offers us the clarity and courage we need to find our way back to ourselves and to each other. And that path cuts right through the wilderness.
A life-changing book that uses new research to challenge old beliefs about belonging, from the author of the landmark bestsellers Rising Strong; Daring Greatly; and The Gifts of Imperfection.

A brief look into what it means to belong to groups and what it means to stand apart.
I liked that Brown accomplished this without denigrating groups as this could have been a very devise book had she done that.
Instead, she emphasized becoming your own person while embracing the commonality that unites people.
She offers four steps to braving the Wilderness, and I appreciated her use of stories as she worked through the ways we can interact with others while embracing the fact that sometimes we must stand alone in order to be true to ourselves.
