Hilarity Ensues submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2018, 3:19pm With periodic interludes from Dr. Demento and a slate of guests, this album is structured much like a radio show and is thus good to listen to in big chunks. The compilation is a tribute to Dr. Demento’s lengthy career digging up and popularizing strange music, featuring punk covers of some of the show’s most notorious songs. It’s fun to hear the dissonance between the earnestness of punk and the silliness of many of the lyrics, and the album is a lot of fun.
