Groundhog Day + Horror submitted by Meginator on July 27, 2018, 10:28pm The premise of this film is a time loop with a horror slant to it, and it delivers perfectly on that premise, fully acknowledging its own goofiness while offering enough twists to keep viewers guessing. Though the subject matter can (understandably) get a bit dark, the film doesn't revel in gore for its own sake, and relies more on cleverness than shock value. Nothing here is too terribly surprising, but the film itself gets the job done admirably.

I don't think I had even heard of this until its sequel came out and, since sequels mean somebody bet a lot of money on "doing it again," I thought I'd take a look at the original. What a surprise! Actually a good movie with, can you believe it, an interesting dramatic arc and character development. Hooda thunk it?!
