Use of "cast" is infrequent, but appreciated. submitted by Chris Haddlesey on June 12, 2015, 2:32pm I had expected the "cast" of voice actors to be present for the entirety of the book (like a radio drama). However, it seems they are only used at the beginning of most disks, to introduce a main character, or at other key plot points. Otherwise the narrator does all of the voices like a typical audiobook. This was confusing at first, but the narrator does a fine job and it's reasonable that the other actors wouldn't be expected to record for the entirety of a book as long as this one. Also included are appropriate atmospheric sound effects to demarcate chapter beginnings and disk endings.

Dune submitted by JHermanowski on July 4, 2021, 7:43pm Long listen, but worth the trip with the characters. Believe there are 3 different narrators voicing roles, which helps keep characters straight. Many characters, some with similar names that can take a while to catch. Since it’s science fiction, also a bit of a learning curve to figure out planets and city names. Overall, very enjoyable and hard to stop listening to!

Takes some time submitted by caburr47 on July 17, 2021, 8:59pm It feels like the first few chapters assume you know more about the characters and who they are than the information you have. I finally felt secure in who was being spoken about and their context to the family once I was a few chapters in. It is still an interesting commentary on the modern world.
