Deserves multiple readings! submitted by geierac on June 21, 2019, 5:48pm This book was beautiful - I absolutely love Tillie Walden's illustration style. The world she created for this book was dark and cold and claustrophobic, and yet also hopeful. The connections amongst the characters are complex and require a lot of reading between the lines. And there's a giant cat! There's a lot to like in this book, but it took me a second read through to start to understand the characters. Fortunately, it's not a long read. :)

Recommended for anyone who likes Walden's other works, like Spinning or On a Sunbeam. Also recommended for those who like the mystery of books like Sandman.
