A twist on Science submitted by hadleysnicole on June 26, 2018, 8:26am Science Comics: Dogs From Predator to Protector by Andy Hirsch is an interesting book full of scientific information about dogs with great illustrations. This book is a fun way to describe the process of evolution using dogs. The graphics are fun as well as informative.

This book is about a dog named Rudy, who is a pet dog who visits the local dog park. Once at the dog park, he tries to play with his yellow ball. This ends up taking the reader through a history of canis lupus to canis familiaris. The allows the reader to meet several different breeds of dogs and learn how they came to be using genetics, evolution and adaptations. There is a lot of scientific detail and scientific vocabulary that is explained in the story as well as in the extensive glossary at the end of the book.

cute and fun! submitted by ginarae3 on June 21, 2019, 8:21pm I learned a lot, and I'm an adult. My 12 year old son and I both enjoyed this graphic novel. Great for dog lovers of all ages.

Fun and Educational submitted by samanthar on June 30, 2022, 3:36pm As an adult, I learned a lot about dogs! There is a pretty in-depth explanation of genetics and dominant/recessive genes. The history of breeding, dog jobs, variable personality traits, and social behaviors are all covered. I wasn't expecting a small comic book to cover so much! I also liked how the book did a great job of teaching the reader about dogs in general, but also applying it to pet dogs, and the individual dog you have at home that probably displays the behaviors explained scientifically in the book. I recommend for anyone interested in learning more about our 4 legged friends!
