A global action thriller set in the present day. This original story follows a young Jack as he uncovers a financial terrorist plot. When Ryan believes he's uncovered a Russian plot to collapse the United States economy, he goes from being an analyst to becoming a spy and must fight to save his own life and those of countless others, while also trying to protect the thing that's more important to him than anything, his relationship with his fiancé Cathy.

ok, meaning it's ok submitted by strawberryhead on May 9, 2016, 11:22am This movie was OK, I gave it 3.5 stars. Only because I didn't feel like I wasted an hour and half of my evening. It is acted ok, perhaps in a theater with a bigger screen and booming sound it would have been slightly better. Really though I like Kevin Costner and well Kenneth Branagh is a good actor too. Chris Pine I am sure is liked by the youngins, but ehh. There really isn't much substance to the movie, but most movies these days don't seem to have any. The original Jack Ryan movies (like Hunt for Red October) had much better stories. I see in this film they are trying to have some kind of Jason Bourne franchise built around Jack Ryan, I am sure they will BUT the Bourne movies are sooooooooo much better. The Jack Ryan scripts will have to get much better.
