Darkness light darkness: A man literally constructs himself within the confines of a very small room--a potent allegory of Švankmajer's life in Eastern Europe.

alice submitted by qmomo on July 2, 2019, 4:41pm czech masterpiece of stop-motion animation directed by the great surrealist animator jan svankmajer. also includes a short film by svankmajer. although this is based on a children's book it's not necessarily a film for children, it has sort of a surreal and unnerving atmosphere.
