Summary elsewhere: "It is now beyond a doubt that a mole, implanted decades ago by Moscow Centre, has burrowed his way into the highest echelons of British Intelligence. His treachery has already blown some of its most vital operations and its best networks. It is clear that the double agent is one of its own kind. But which one? George Smiley is assigned to identify him. And once identified, the traitor must be destroyed."
This is a great spy story, full of interesting characters and "tradecraft." When I finished listening, I started it back up again - not necessarily because I thought it was riveting, but because I suspected I had missed some important bits the first time through. (I have a tendency to listen inattentively while doing other things.) And sure enough, even in the first chapter or two there were aha moments. I wish I had noticed that the library also owns a version read by Frank Muller, because I suspect I would have preferred his rendition.
