Originally released as a motion picture in 2013.
Sandra Bullock, George Clooney; additional voices by Ed Harris.
Dr. Ryan Stone is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. On a seemingly routine spacewalk, the shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left, and the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
DVD, region 1, dual-layer format, widescreen presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.

ok submitted by ECReader on June 15, 2014, 1:58pm i thought this movie was ok, but i guess i wouldnt know because i didint get to finish it! i liked how it showed space.

Gripping submitted by Beth Manuel on June 18, 2014, 12:40pm I hadn't expected to be so engrossed by this film, as I thought it'd be a lot of struggle in air space. Which it was, but I was on the edge of my seat. I think the concept of being just 'out there' was scary. Gripping, I say because I felt myself gripping my couch so I wouldn't float away.

Hummm submitted by sara on July 9, 2014, 6:50pm Not as good as I heard it was. Did not seem very realistic.

Castaway submitted by AprilCDB on July 12, 2014, 3:12pm Castaway, but in space and with Bullock, not Hanks... and no Wilson.

Probably better on the big screen submitted by shumoon on August 4, 2014, 10:47pm This film did not seem as visually engrossing on TV as I hoped it would. It is probably one of those films that are meant to be seen in a cinema, preferably IMAX. It's not one of those movies you should wait for on DVD. If they ever re-release it in the cinema, I think one should view it there.

Gravity submitted by SBNB on August 7, 2014, 12:34pm Not as stupid as I had anticipated. Overall, it was a good diversion.

alright submitted by cinderellariley on August 14, 2014, 2:56pm Did not live up to all the hype

Gravity submitted by hcf on August 27, 2014, 9:25pm Actually, I enjoyed the movie more than I thought I would.

Amazing Graphics, Okay Plot submitted by drewy234432 on June 14, 2015, 7:32am This movies has some of the most breath taking graphics that any movie has ever had. Besides the graphics, this movie doesn't have many other good characteristics. They basically float around in space for a few hours. Still, I would recommend this movie because of it's amazing graphics.

Gravity submitted by leenajong on August 15, 2015, 8:18am Nice. Good production.

Enjoyable submitted by kelleyc on August 3, 2016, 10:05am Sandra Bullock is wonderful

One Time Watch submitted by cmegane on June 23, 2017, 6:54pm This was gripping the first watch through but now I am scared of space and probably won't see it again. The length was just right.

Very good submitted by kathscot on June 23, 2017, 10:31pm Very suspenseful. A good movie to watch.

Gripping Suspense submitted by Meginator on July 9, 2017, 4:50pm This movie is worth watching for the opening scene alone: it is smooth and beautiful and sweeping and gripping and perfectly sets the subsequent tones of the film. The last shot, too, proves that Alfonso Cuarón is one of the best directors in modern cinema. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney fully inhabit their roles and turn in great performances, which is especially important given the fact that the plot revolves so tightly around them (and, more specifically, Bullock). The script has an incredible amount of suspense and kept me glued to the edge of my seat throughout the film. It is marvelously executed and surprisingly good to re-watch for a thriller. This film fully deserves its reputation and is absolutely worth watching, even if you're not usually into science fiction stories.

Gravity submitted by c_zhang on June 29, 2019, 12:25am Actually, I enjoyed the movie more than I thought I would.

Hard work submitted by ccrose on July 19, 2019, 11:45pm This was no easy movie to make. Lots of time spent at a Computor designing all the space shots, all the animation of the actors floating in space, lots of detail to each of the interior and messy exterior of each of the capsules. So that leaves a good bit of writing and acting. I admire Bullock for taking this on because she had to convince us of the slim chance she had to make it with each crash, each loss and put in quite a physical workout. I guess that’s hard to put up front when the space junk is really calling the shots. But she convinced me that she wanted to live early on. Like the old Donna Summer song says, “She work hard for the money.”

gravity submitted by crp on August 22, 2019, 12:52am one of the best movies i have ever watched

Gravity submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2019, 4:46pm Gravity has decent acting, but a weak plot. It's entertaining for what it is, but skippable.

good submitted by .-.-.-. on June 11, 2022, 9:00am I liked it. It's a very detailed movie with a very exciting plot and you can tell that this movie was worked on for a while. Worth a watch.

Solid submitted by jibkidder on July 3, 2022, 11:05am While not as engrossing as his previous film, this is a gripping space thriller and nice chance to re-acquaint with Bullock.

See submitted by Clown81 on July 5, 2022, 11:57pm I want to see this film.

Sometimes a howl is worth 1000 words submitted by tarascon on June 22, 2023, 2:37pm Marvelous.
On my second viewing I took my mom along. She had Aphasia and, by that point, she’d lost her ability to understand English (we could still converse in German). I was happy to see that the power of the film’s visuals amazed her as she sat spellbound and wide-eyed. I remember how she flashed me a big smile when Sandra Bullock began to howl as a way to communicate with the Inuit man. During that film, language proved entirely irrelevant to my mother as well.

For that memory alone I will always be grateful to Alfonso Cuaron.
