A Thoughtful Classic submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 9:14pm This classic, thoughtful album lives between genres and has a vibe all its own, one that has stood the test of time. Incorporating unusual instrumentation along with a standard rock and roll setup, the band crafts a weaving storyline relying almost solely on the instrumentals. When lyrics do appear, most notably on the sublime “Wish You Were Here” (which alone merits listening to the entire album), they gracefully add an important dimension to the canvas instead of overpowering the other elements. Though it is often overshadowed by flashier albums, this is probably Pink Floyd’s most moving and most emotionally nuanced work.
