Short retrospective of Bone submitted by severian on August 16, 2021, 7:44pm This book contains one (very short) and inessential (but fun) short story, and the rest is a retrospective of Bone by Jeff Smith and a comics historian. It includes weird and interesting tidbits such as 1) Art Spiegelman was the one who suggested that Smith let Scholastic colorize Bone, saying the book was about life and deserved to be in color; 2) Jeff Smith was kind of at the forefront of a change in how comics were distributed (via graphic novel); 3) He lived in a hotel with his wife while the comic was still getting off the ground.

If you find this kind of thing interesting (I do!) this is for you. And, if you're into taking a peek behind the curtain of comics production, be sure to check out Gary Larson's Prehistory of Farside and the classic The Illusion of Life about Disney.
