Beautiful Artistry submitted by DBJC on June 16, 2017, 11:34pm I picked up this comic while browsing the shelves on a slow work day at the bookstore. I was drawn by the beautiful cover (as well as the feedback that I heard from Tumblr). The story is a bit hard to follow at first, but it becomes more and more clearer as you read more. In my opinion I wish more would be explained at the beginning, but it's like looking at television show. The withholding of information is better suited for a television show than a comic, but it is no less beautiful, and intriguing, and horrifying. Yes, horrifying. This is a horror graphic novel, and may leave you with some nightmares. Beautifully terrifying ones.

Dark and beautiful submitted by ckfinzel on August 30, 2017, 9:28pm This was my first real foray into graphic novels, and I really enjoyed its complexity and beauty. This is exceptionally well done. It is very graphic at times, but with purpose. The characters are intriguing and strong. I enjoy the female-centric storyline, and I can't wait to read the next one.

Just Gorgeous submitted by majean on August 5, 2018, 2:41pm Such an incredible series! The art is beautiful, the characters are complex, and the (matriarchal) world is well developed. This one also makes you realize how ingrained male-as-default is in our brains.

Love the Drawings submitted by O'Eily on June 24, 2019, 11:55am The drawings were amazing and complex. It was beautiful, and it gave a great image to the story. The plot was carefully constructed, and I can't wait to read the sequel!

Gorgeous but graphic submitted by 21621032124198 on May 21, 2023, 9:26am I agree with DBJC - the drawings are absolutely exquisite, though some scenes are incredibly disturbing. I also wish the information at the end of the book had been presented at the beginning, as it would have made things a bit easier to understand, but the drawings will keep you reading, even if the story seems confusing.
