A pregnant 12 year-old girl who won't reveal who the father is, walks chest deep into the freezing waters of a New Zealand lake and disappears. Robin Griffin is called in to investigate and becomes more and more obsessed. I would suppose its closest analogue is Twin Peaks, only because of it's theme and of being a TV series by an idiosyncratic filmmaker. Love Holly Hunter's character and still think about some of her lines years later, "lay down, heal yourself, like a cat".
