I love Jones' stories submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on August 5, 2022, 10:46pm I read once that “a story is when something happens, and so something changes.” This is absolutely the story of an event that changed everything, and the rolling changes that happened to everyone in the family afterward. I love Jones’ stories. She writes wonderfully complex characters, and protagonist Aria was no exception. I never liked her as a person, even while constantly appreciating that her youth and trauma drove her choices. The cast of secondary characters and even the locations in the story were also vivid and real to me. Characters reacted and changed as they interacted with each other, coming to situations with histories and leaving moments with emotions, purpose, and plans. The story just got better and better as I got further in. Highly recommended.
