Read by Kevin R. Free and Katherine Kellgren.
Ever since the gods of ancient Egypt were unleashed in the modern world, Carter Kane and his sister Sadie have been in trouble. As descendants of the House of Life, the Kanes have some powers at their command, but the devious gods haven't given them much time to master their skills at Brooklyn House. Now their most threatening enemy yet, the chaos snake Apophis, is rising. If they don't prevent him from breaking free in a few days' time, the world will come to an end.

A bit grating submitted by SarahRose on June 20, 2011, 4:22pm I found the British female accent assumed by Kevin Free when impersonating Sadie to be implausible and irritating, so I'd stick to the book and skip the audio version.

good submitted by readingking on July 15, 2011, 8:14pm good book

Great to Listen To submitted by 0liviap0pp on June 15, 2012, 11:54am I actually enjoyed the voices that Kevin Free and Katherine Kellgren use for Carter and Sadie. I found it highly entertaining. It was great to listen to and then great to read afterwards.

Continuing your summer road trip submitted by cherylo on June 14, 2014, 10:05am This series was a great one for running around in the car while doing errands. I highly recommend it as a family adventure audiobook for your summer road trip with kids grade age 9 and up. In this volume Carter and Sadie must find a way to help Ra regain his former glory, in the hope that he can be the key to defeating Apophis.
