Outstanding Percussion-Driven Jazz submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2019, 8:58pm It is a rare, but awesome, pleasure to find an album (in any genre) characterized by its excellent percussion, and the drumming on these tracks is exceptional. The drum solos have a driving force behind them and give each track an irresistible dynamic quality. Though the ensemble usually settles into a cool jazz framework, the album incorporates influences from a number of genres. Most notable is the the "Blues March", which combines the traditional march with jazz; it's unusual, but it absolutely works and is enough on its own to justify checking this out. Consider it a bonus that whole album has a great sense of flow, making it essential listening.
