Energetic, Interesting Covers submitted by Meginator on July 28, 2019, 1:11pm Though the compilation is perhaps incorrectly named (these tracks fall into various subgenres of alternative rock that aren’t really punk), the song selection is excellent and most of these bands do enough to fully distinguish their versions of these pop hits from the originals. As someone who knows most of the originals pretty well but also listens to these bands regularly, I really enjoyed the album. The included demo from Fearless Records leaned a little too much toward screamo for my personal taste, but I imagine it will appeal to a lot of fans of the featured bands on the main disc.
