Uneven But Mostly Good submitted by Meginator on August 29, 2020, 1:59pm This compilation finds a range of pop-punk bands taking on familiar pop songs from artists like Madonna, Britney Spears, and the Backstreet Boys. Though all of these tracks fit into a broad pop-punk milieu, many do little to spice up the originals and a lot of them sound quite similar to the source material, with slightly harder edges in the guitars and vocals; artists like Slick Shoes, Yellowcard, Knockout, and Keepsake do a little more to add an extra twist. Nonetheless, the album is still a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy both Y2K-era pop and pop-punk; it’s like a slightly off-kilter installment of the Now That’s What I Call Music series.
