R&B Flavor submitted by Meginator on June 20, 2018, 10:49pm Musically, this album is a bit of a departure for Clarkson, revolving around a relaxed R&B sound rather than her usual mix of radio-ready uptempo pop hits and dynamic downtempo ballads. Clarkson’s vocal power is as strong as ever, as are her lyrics when she’s in empowerment mode, but none of the songs take advantage of her greatest strengths and her unique vocal qualities. The songs themselves are far less anthemic than on her previous albums, and the result is a bit disappointing overall, though I remain a huge fan.

3/5. Meh. It's kind of boring IMHO. Lyrics are a bit vapid. Not much energy. I like her on The Voice, but here...not so much.
