songs with poignant lyrics. It's difficult to pick favorites but Cumberland Gap, Anxiety,and
White Man's World are highlights for me.

Americana Roots in Modern Country Clothes submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2020, 12:57am Jason Isbell’s music has a lot of heart behind it, paying homage to its Americana roots but still fitting nicely into the contemporary country mainstream. I’m not sure that I’m totally convinced by some of the more progressive lyrics here, but I appreciate the effort in a genre that isn’t particularly known for its forward-thinking sensibilities. All together, the album makes a good case for Isbell's status as an excellent contemporary Americana musician.
