COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Repetitive submitted by ftan on July 8, 2013, 11:04pm This movie is almost a twin of every other Tom Cruise movie of the past five years. With subpar acting, a predictable plot, and unnecessary action, I personally disliked this movie greatly. The only savior from failure was Morgan Freeman. Otherwise, two thumbs down.

cool submitted by nicenora2371 on July 18, 2013, 6:06pm cool cover and scary to

Oooohh...miss submitted by DBJC on June 17, 2014, 1:14pm This movie was embarrassingly predictable. So much that it hurt. It was actually going fine until a "plot twist" that drove the movie down. Way down. The only good thing about this movie was the music. The ending was also terribly unsatisfying and kind of made me angry that I took the time to go see it. I desperately wish that this movie was better, way better. It really could have been promising if they didn't choose a route that included several items from the book of science fiction cliches. The plot could have been better, the action could have been better, the characters could have been more fleshed out. Some people that I've talked to said that they liked it but it wasn't for me. At least check out the soundtrack by M83.

Enjoyable submitted by srclark734 on July 15, 2014, 2:30pm I liked the movie. As will the other people, I guessed the plot twist but I still enjoyed it.

A cool sci-fi movie--but not original submitted by hathaway1066 on August 7, 2014, 12:30pm Perhaps I somehow heard, vaguely, about this movie's plot, and that made it seem predictable--I'm not sure if that's so, but could be. But there were some fairly glaring warning flags about the overall 'truth' that is finally revealed as the movie's plot reaches its peak. And the 'how the good guys finally win' plot device is definitely not novel.

But there is a certain style and quality to the movie's settings and technology that helps carry it through--so I had no problem with watching to the end.

Have I seen this before? submitted by leenajong on August 18, 2015, 10:12pm The story line is very close to that of the movie Moon, except in this case, we have a couple of female protagonists in the mix. Just to spice things up a little.

It's been done submitted by steveiew on July 1, 2017, 9:44am Much of this movie has been done before but it was still entertaining

okay submitted by rjsjwilliams on June 27, 2018, 3:14pm Typical Tom Cruise movie where he's also looking tense. I finally turned it off before it was finished

Predictable submitted by lstorc on August 27, 2018, 3:43pm The pacing was tolerable, the characters dispensable, and the plot lacking in originality.

B+ submitted by mandevil on December 24, 2020, 10:03am Yes it has a familiar feel to all other sci-fi movies but enough different that i enjoyed it.
