read the hard copy, don't listen to the audio version submitted by 21621031390949 on July 20, 2018, 6:06pm If you like Conroy's writing, it's at full-flower here. Interesting memoir about the books that have influenced him. I listened to the recorded version, read by the author. Unfortunately, he's not a very good reader -- pretty much a monotone. When the booked ended, there was no indication of this in his tone, and it was shocking when it was suddenly and abruptly followed by an interview with the author. Oddly enough, in the interview Conroy said he likes to read his books for recordings because he feels he can put more emotion into the book at the right places.

I might re-read this book in hard copy.
