A Group's Musical Evolution submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 11:27pm This anthology album covers a lot of the group’s history, and as such it makes for an interesting time capsule of synthpop and other electronic genres. All of the tracks feel related, and it’s easy to hear how they all came from the same group, but each has its own unique vibe, whether it is a dreamy instrumental or a chart-friendly pop song. The group draws on everything from moody post-punk to the bright sounds of the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland background loop, pulling it through their own sensibility to arrive at something that feels new and different. The results are often surprising, making this a nice and varied tribute to a lengthy career.
