COMMUNITY REVIEWS

An Acquired Taste, But Worth It submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 9:32pm Steve Reich generally composes love-it-or-hate-it music, inherently experimental and built around repetition and subtle, slow change; this group of remixes and a new composition is right in his usual line, quietly brilliant and captivating where it should by all rights be completely boring. The difference in instrumentation and the alternation of slow and fast movements keep the music moving forward with a mesmerizing effect. Steve Reich isn’t for everybody, but this album is a testament to his lasting influence and his incredible, unique mode of composition.
