Standard Garfield submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:38pm Although this collection of Garfield comics doesn’t include any major holidays, it does have a nice themed week leading up to Garfield’s birthday, which is celebrated in an excellent Sunday strip that has just a hint of the sentimentality that occasionally pops up in this otherwise sarcastic series. Most of these comics are one-offs, and the book would benefit from cameo appearances from characters beyond Liz, but anyone who generally enjoys the strip’s sense of humor should find this a broadly funny (if not particularly memorable) collection. Garfield is firmly in his groove here, for better and worse.
