"Told through real-life journals, collages, lists, and drawings, this coming-of-age story illustrates the transformation of an 18-year-old girl from a small-town teenager into an independent city-dwelling college student. Written in an autobiographical style with beautiful artwork, Little Fish shows the challenges of being a young person facing the world on her own for the very first time and the unease--as well as excitement--that comes along with that challenge." -- From publisher's web site.

Little Michigan Fish in Big City Baltimore
submitted by sdunav on July 25, 2014, 4:47pm
A not terribly exciting but kind of gentle-fun graphic novel memoir of the first year at art school (college) of a rather sheltered girl from a small town in Michigan. Nice coming-of-age story of someone who seems so.....normal, compared to most of the people in memoirs (including those who have written autobiographical graphic novels).
Also, Ramsey goes to art school in Baltimore, and it's interesting reading about the differences she sees between rural Michigan and life in a big city with a lot more diversity.
Mostly lists submitted by Staffsteph on August 29, 2018, 6:13pm This book is mostly lists that the author had written. The lists were not very entertaining to me and the content of them were not very interesting or engaging. I did like the parts that were comics and I felt that her drawing style was nice.
