Over-Polished submitted by Meginator on July 24, 2019, 9:26am The liner notes carry a warning that this album is unfocused, and though I’m not sure whether reading that clouded my view of the album, I am inclined to agree: these tracks feel over-polished and over-produced, and they lack energy and emotion. Even the musical style feels anemic, like a watered-down version of the powerful hard rock that defines the band’s best work. “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” has the makings of a great song within it, but everything else here is disappointing and forgettable. The album lacks soul.
