A Tale of Two Halves submitted by Meginator on June 29, 2019, 11:04pm This album seemed to me to be caught between several minds, its hip-hop-inspired first half giving way to high-minded cinematic tracks that frequently veer into cliché. The first few tracks are pretty good, evoking old-school hip-hop with modern electronica influences sprinkled in for good measure; this doesn’t outweigh the album’s more self-conscious back end, but it redeems part of the listening experience.
