Sookie Stackhouse submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 17, 2013, 9:36pm "Club Dead," the third book in Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mystery series focuses on psychic waitress Sookie and her vampire boyfriend Bill who live in the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana. Bill suddenly disappears while working on a secret project so Sookie travels to Mississippi to find him, enlisting the help of werewolf Alcide Herveaux and vampire Eric Northman.

The third season of the HBO series "True Blood" mostly follows this novel's plot with some key changes. Like all the books in the series it is not a fabulous literary achievement, but it is mindless fun. Read the first two books in the series to understand the characters and plot of this one, particularly the strange rules that govern vampire interactions and their complex politics.
