Nas has an excellent sense of rhythmic flow that fits in seamlessly with his vocal storytelling, with the music, lyrics, and vocal style all coming together to create a portrait of a place and time that remains compelling. This album has incredible depth and subtlety that come alive on repeated listens, but it’s just as solid the first time through.
