COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Great concept album submitted by edb.blanchard on August 18, 2018, 6:34pm I prefer this album to the original cast recording. Sara let's her music and lyrics shine and Jason Mraz takes on the male solos and duets and it is fantastic!
What’s inside is magic submitted by caburr47 on August 17, 2019, 10:39pm Sara Bareilles needs to write more musicals. Her humor in combination for her talent for ballads and pop are so well suited for Broadway.
Outstanding Solo Broadway Album submitted by Meginator on June 21, 2020, 4:08pm This album is a solo performance of the songs from the Broadway show “Waitress” and it is so much more than a retread of the cast recording, as Sara Bareilles brings distinctly different perspectives to each of her compositions. The songs themselves are excellent, with the singer-songwriter’s unique piano-based pop touch and a couple of well-timed appearances from Jason Mraz, and the musical’s storylines remain intact, giving the album a consistent forward momentum. The album ends with a soft echo of its opening lines, capping off a brilliant reimagining of an excellent show from one of the best pop singer-songwriters working today.
